What are the packaging options for CBB capacitors?

According to industry data and manufacturer technical specifications, the packaging forms of CBB capacitors (metalized polypropylene film capacitors) are mainly divided into the following four categories, which are classified and explained based on their structural characteristics and application scenarios:
1、 Resin encapsulation (epoxy resin/paint encapsulation)

CBB22 type (rectangular resin encapsulation)

Structure: After the metalized polypropylene film is wound, it is encapsulated as a whole with flame-retardant epoxy resin, and the pins are unidirectionally led out.
Features: Small size, good self-healing ability, low cost, but weak resistance to moisture and heat.
Application: Consumer electronics power filter, energy-saving lamp circuit (such as 105J/400V specification).

CBB81 type (high-pressure resin encapsulation)

Structure: Designed with a series of metalized film layers, reinforced with epoxy resin insulation, capable of withstanding voltages up to 1kV~2kV.
Features: Resistant to high voltage impact, suitable for high-frequency and high current scenarios.
Application: Display reverse circuit, electronic ballast.
2、 Plastic shell packaging (flame retardant plastic shell)

CBB61 type (square plastic shell)

Structure: After winding the polypropylene film, it is placed in an ABS/PBT plastic shell, filled with flame-retardant epoxy resin, and the pins are led out laterally.
Features: Strong moisture resistance, high mechanical strength, and a lifespan of 105 ℃/5000 hours.
Application: Single phase motor start for electric fans and air conditioning fans.

MPB type (box shaped plastic shell, CBB21B)

Structure: The metalized film is placed inside a flame-retardant plastic box, with better sealing than resin encapsulation.
Features: High temperature and high humidity resistance, suitable for harsh environments.
Application: Industrial power supply, outdoor lighting fixtures (replacing CBB22).
3、 Metal shell packaging type (mechanical protection type)

CBB60 type (cylindrical metal shell)

Structure: Polypropylene film and electrode are wound and sealed in an aluminum shell, with bolts or inserts leading out.
Features: Explosion proof design, excellent heat dissipation, vibration resistance.
Application: AC motor operation capacitor (such as water pump, compressor).

CBB65 type (reinforced explosion-proof metal shell)

Structure: Second generation mechanical explosion-proof structure, with a pressure release groove on the outer shell.
Features: Higher safety, with a lifespan of up to 100000 hours.
Application: High power industrial motors, new energy charging stations.

4、 Special structure packaging

Axial pin packaging (CBB19/CBB20)

Structure: After the metalized film is wound, both ends are axially led out and wrapped with flame-retardant tape.
Features: Non inductive design, low high-frequency loss.
Application: Audio frequency divider, precision instrument coupling circuit.

Box type safety capacitor (X/Y capacitor)

Structure: Metallized polypropylene film sealed in a square flame retardant box, with standardized pin spacing.
Features: Complies with UL/ENEC safety certification and suppresses EMI interference.
Application: Switching power supply input filtering (X2 level withstand voltage ≤ 4kV).
