Interpretation of Five Important Parameters of SMD Inductance

Date:2021-08-10 Viewed:2907

The circuit is composed of wires and electronic components. Different circuits require different chip inductance parameters. The main parameters of SMD inductance include inductance, allowable deviation, distributed capacitance, rated current and quality factor. Then the following small series mainly explains these five parameters as follows.

Interpretation of Five Parameters of Chip Inductance
I. inductance
"inductance" means that the inductance mainly depends on the number of turns (turns), winding mode, whether there is a magnetic core and the material of the magnetic core, etc. Generally, the more turns of the coil, the denser the coils of the winding and the greater the inductance. Coils with cores have a larger inductance than coils without cores. The greater the magnetic permeability of the core, the greater the inductance. Therefore, there are many factors that determine the inductance. The basic unit of inductance is Henry, which is represented by the letter H. Commonly used units are milliheng (mH) and micro-heng (μH), and their relationship is 1H = 1000 h1mh = 1000μH h. 。

Second, the allowable deviation
"Allowable deviation" is the allowable error value of inductance and actual inductance recorded by the index. Generally speaking, the chip inductors used in oscillation and filter circuits require high precision, with an allowable deviation of 0.2%~ 0.5%, while the precision of coupling and high frequency current blocking is not high, with an allowable deviation of 10%~15%.

Third, distributed capacitance
"Distributed capacitance" refers to the capacitance existing between turns of coil and between coil and core. The smaller the distributed capacitance, the better its stability.

IV. Rated current
"Rated current" refers to the maximum current allowed to pass through the chip inductor during normal operation. Burned when working current exceeds rated current.

V. Quality factor
"Quality factor", also known as Q value or excellent value, is the main parameter to measure the quality of inductance. It refers to the ratio between the inductor and its equivalent loss resistance when the chip inductor works under AC voltage with a certain frequency. The higher the value, the smaller the loss and the higher the efficiency.
